on time与in time的区别



1. on time是“准时；按时”之意；


2. in time有“及时；迟早”的意思，意指正赶上时候或恰在需要的时候。


Example: This bus always arrived on time. 这班公车一向很准时。


Example: The company will lose a lot of money if the work isn't completed on time. 如果不能按时完成这项工作，公司就会失去一大笔钱。


Example: We just arrived at the train station in time. 我们及时赶到了火车站。


Example: David said he'd take me to the concert, if he's home in time. 大卫说他如果能及时回家就会带我去音乐会。
