品一口春之味，南京“头锅”雨花茶出炉

Famed Yuhua tea harvest starts in Nanjing

雨花茶以茶色碧绿、香气清雅而闻名。3月16日，位于南京钟山风景名胜区内的中山陵茶厂开采，“头锅”雨花茶正式出炉。

Nanjing’s Yuhua tea, or Rainflower tea, is known for the fresh and cool flavor and sweet aroma. March 16 marked the start of the Yuhua tea picking season at Zhongshanling Tea’s farm.  

据南京雨花茶非遗传承人曹枝玉介绍，近半个月气温比较高，开采时间提前了3到5天。前期雨花茶品质因为气温较高略受影响，后期气温平稳，品质会更好一些。

Cao Zhiyu, a master of Yunhua tea crafting techniques, said temperatures were relatively high in the last half of the month so the harvest season arrives 3 to 5 days earlier. Cao also said the quality of tea made with leaves in stable weather conditions will be slightly better.

2021年，雨花茶制作技艺入选了国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。曹枝玉表示，雨花茶制作工序中最考究的一道工序就是“整形”，要将茶叶搓得像松针般，非常考验炒茶师傅的手艺。

The making of Yuhua tea was listed as the national intangible cultural heritage in 2021. According to Cao, the most challenging procedure of Yuhua tea making is  shaping, which basically means rolling the roasted tea leaves to be like pine needles. 

目前，中山陵茶厂现有5位雨花茶制作技艺传承人，后期茶厂还将推出研学活动，让更多市民体验雨花茶文化。

Zhongshanling Tea currently has five masters of Yunhua tea crafting techniques. The plant will also introduce interactive programs for the public to enjoy the tea drinking as well as understand the culture. 

扬州鉴真路“樱花大道”千株樱花绽放

Cherry blossoms season arrives in Yangzhou

3月16日，江苏扬州鉴真路“樱花大道”迎来赏樱好时节。

逾千株樱花竞相绽放，灿若云霞。

There are more than 1,000 cherry trees along the road, a popular destination when cherry blossoms come into bloom. 

鉴真路以唐代高僧鉴真命名。鉴真是广陵江阳（今江苏扬州）人。他曾担任扬州大明寺主持，并先后六次东渡日本，弘扬佛法。

The road is named after Jianzhen, a famous monk of China's Tang Dynasty (618-907). A Yangzhou native, Jianzhen made six attempts to visit Japan to introduced Buddhism to the country.
